Aviation casualties present distinctive challenges: aircraft environments often prevent full tourniquet access; altitude and pressure differentials complicate chest-seal effectiveness; and mission profiles ranging from direct action to humanitarian aid require a kit that performs across the entire operational envelope.
The dual QuikClot Combat Gauze LE reflects the IMAK’s design philosophy of prioritizing hemostatic capability — CoTCCC-recommended kaolin-impregnated gauze that addresses both extremity and junctional wounds that may not be tourniquet-accessible in a cramped aircraft environment. The Beacon Chest Seal’s strong hydrogel adhesive maintains seal integrity on blood- or sweat-covered skin, critical in the dynamic environment of a moving aircraft or high-altitude insertion zone.
