TACMED™ Tool Instrument Pack
Six small instruments, one SKU, 6 oz total: digital thermometer, tweezers, light pen, 5 ft duct tape board, 5.5 in. trauma shears and a black Sharpie. These are the things a well-stocked hemorrhage kit is usually missing — the tools a provider reaches for constantly and nobody remembers to buy.
6 items · 6 ozSKU TOOLPACKShears 5.5 in.Marker for TQ time

Everyone stocks the tourniquet. Nobody stocks the marker that records when it went on — and that number is what the next provider needs.

VIEW ▾What's in the Package — six items · 6 oz · SKU TOOLPACK
  • 1× Digital thermometer — temperature assessment for hypothermia, heat illness and infection monitoring
  • 1× Tweezers — foreign-body removal, splinter and debris extraction
  • 1× Light pen — pupillary assessment, wound illumination, dark-environment tasks
  • 1× Duct tape board, 5 ft — securing dressings, improvised tasks, and a writing surface for labelling and marking
  • 1× Trauma shears, 5.5 in. — clothing and bandage cutting, opening packaging. The compact size; TacMed sells 7.25 in. shears separately for faster clothing removal.
  • 1× Black Sharpie marker — tourniquet time marking, patient documentation, triage marking
  • NOT INCLUDED: no pouch, roll or organiser. This is the instrument set, not a staged kit — it ships to be distributed into a bag you already own.
  • NOT INCLUDED: no bleeding-control items. No tourniquet, no gauze, no bandage, no chest seal. This pack deliberately covers the non-hemorrhage side of a kit and assumes the hemorrhage side is already stocked.

Manufacturer, SKU, item count, pack weight, shear length and tape length are as published by Tactical Medical Solutions. Four things are not published and are worth asking about before you standardize on this pack: the thermometer's measurement type and range, the light pen's output and power source, latex content, and individual part numbers for reordering a single item. Two operational notes carried from the manufacturer's own material: the 5 ft duct tape board is intended for securement, splint reinforcement and field-expedient repair rather than skin contact — duct tape adhesive is not formulated for skin and medical-grade tape is the correct choice over a wound — and the 5.5 in. shears are the compact size, with TacMed offering 7.25 in. shears separately for providers who want faster clothing removal. Nothing on this page describes a clinical procedure, a temperature threshold, or when any measurement should change your treatment; those belong to your protocol.

Who Carries It

Medics and providers building a bag from parts, who already hold hemorrhage control and are short the instrument layer · IFAK and CLS kit builders standardizing the same six items across a team so anybody can find them in anybody's bag · EMS and tactical EMS restocking the consumable-adjacent items that walk out of a bag over a deployment cycle · Training programs and cadres outfitting multiple kits identically without sourcing six line items from six vendors · Prolonged field care providers, for whom the thermometer is the piece that turns a suspicion of hypothermia into a trended number.

Nothing in this pack requires a licence or a scope-of-practice qualification to own — these are instruments, not interventions. What they support is not equally unrestricted: a pupillary exam, a temperature trend and a documented tourniquet time are only as useful as the assessment they feed, and that assessment sits inside your training and your protocol. One practical habit worth setting: the marker belongs somewhere fixed and reachable in the kit, not loose in the bottom of a bag, because tourniquet time gets written down when the pen is already in your hand and skipped when it is not.
