Tactical Rapid Deployment Kit

A pre-loaded North American Rescue bag built for the provider who expects more than one casualty: four tourniquets, four vented chest seal twin packs, two rolls of Combat Gauze, and provider-level airway and decompression capability. Where an IFAK covers one patient's primary injuries, the TRDK carries the volume and redundancy to keep working through several.

▾Who Carries It

Military medics and 68Ws carrying multi-casualty capability in a forward position · tactical medics and TEMS providers running the team med kit while each operator carries an individual IFAK · paramedics and ALS providers using it as a rapid-deploy supplement to truck supplies · range officers and training staff designated as the medical responder for a multi-person event. In an active-threat response, it gives the first medical provider on scene the volume to start treating several casualties before further resources arrive.

Scope of practice: the kit includes an NPA and an ARS needle decompression kit. Both are provider-scope procedures. Purchase is appropriate only where the end user holds the training and authorization to perform them.

What is the Tactical Suction Device included in the kit?

The Tactical Suction Device is a manually operated suction device for clearing blood, vomit, or secretions from an airway — critical when a casualty has an obstructed airway from facial trauma, blood pooling, or vomiting. Manual suction devices don't require power, are compact, and can be used in the same immediate environment as other kit supplies. Combined with the NPAs and BVM, the Tactical Rapid Deployment Kit has a more complete airway management capability than most kits of comparable size.

How does the Tactical Rapid Deployment Kit differ from an individual IFAK?

An individual IFAK (IFAK) is designed for self-aid or single-casualty buddy aid by the individual carrying it. The Tactical Rapid Deployment Kit is a squad-level resource with double the tourniquet count, four trauma dressings vs. typically one, a complete airway kit (BVM, suction, NPAs), triage tags, and splinting capability. It is intended for use by a designated team medic, TCCC-trained operator, or first responder who may need to treat multiple casualties.

Yes. The Combat Application Tourniquet® (C-A-T®) Black from North American Rescue is CoTCCC-recommended for extremity hemorrhage control.
