Hip-Level Immediate Access
Worn at the hip or attached to a plate carrier hip kit. Draw trauma gear without removing a pack, kneeling, or calling a stop to movement.
9L Medical-Specific Interior
Larger than an IFAK but smaller than an assault pack — the right volume for a complete CLS kit plus extended-care backup. Organized internal compartments.
Lid Scissor Pocket
Dedicated exterior pocket on the bag lid specifically sized for trauma shears. Draw without opening the main compartment during the C-STOP phase.
Plate Carrier Adapter Compatible
Includes adapters for plate carrier hip attachment. Mounts directly to compatible plate carrier hip systems for a fully integrated carry solution.
Hip-Level TCCC Organization — Interior organized for the operator who needs everything at the hip for fast-moving casualty management:
- Main compartment (large) — tourniquet, chest seals, gauze, wound packing, gloves
- Secondary compartment — NPA, shears, SAM splint, secondary TQ
- Lid exterior scissor pocket — immediate-draw trauma shears
- MOLLE exterior — additional TT pouches or second IFAK attachment
- Hip belt mount — standard MOLLE-compatible hip belt or plate carrier adapter
Primary medic carry when operating on foot in high-tempo environments. Hip-level draw is faster than pack-off-shoulder when treating under fire.
Always-on-body medical kit beyond the IFAK. Hip bag carries the secondary trauma kit for treating the squad's additional casualties.
Fast-draw medical access at active scenes without setting down or dropping a jump bag. Keeps essential items at arm's level.
Plate-carrier mounted for tactical entry. Full 9L of medical capacity without adding a pack to the operator's rear silhouette.
When to Choose the Medic Hip Bag
- High-tempo foot movement — When an assault pack would slow entry — hip-level draw keeps both hands free while moving on a casualty.
- Plate carrier integration — Mounts to hip attachments on plate carriers — full 9L medical kit integrated into the operator's armor system.
- Vehicle operator carry — When dismounting under fire, the hip bag stays accessible without removing body armor or reaching behind the seat.
- CLS second-tier kit — Primary IFAK handles the first casualty; the Medic Hip Bag carries the overflow for a second casualty or advanced care escalation.
Medic Hip Bag vs. The Competition
- vs. TT Small Medic Pack MK II — Small Medic MK II is 3L for individual carry; Medic Hip Bag is 9L for a fuller squad-level medic kit. Hip Bag is the upgrade when more volume is needed at hip level.
- vs. NAR Operator IFAK Pouch — NAR IFAK is a flat MOLLE pouch for a single kit category. TT Medic Hip Bag is a full structured bag (9L) for multi-category medical staging.
- vs. High Speed Gear Reflex Range Bag — HSGI Reflex is primarily a range utility bag. TT Medic Hip Bag is purpose-built for medical carry with organized interior and scissor pocket.
- vs. Condor Rip-Away EMT Pouch — Condor is budget-tier polyester. TT Medic Hip Bag uses CORDURA® 700D and meets German Bundeswehr standards — a significant quality differential.
Frequently Asked Questions — Medic Hip Bag
- How does the Medic Hip Bag attach to a plate carrier?
- The bag ships with adapters for plate carrier hip attachment. It also mounts to standard MOLLE-compatible hip belts via its PALS webbing interface.
- Is 9 liters enough for a complete TCCC kit?
- 9L accommodates a complete MARCH kit: tourniquet, chest seals, hemostatic gauze, NPA, gloves, and additional items for a two-casualty load. For larger loadouts, pair with an Assault Pack.
- Does it have an internal organizational system?
- Yes. The interior includes multiple compartments and a scissor/shears pocket on the lid. The MOLLE exterior adds further attachment points.
- What is the difference between the 700D and Multicam 500D versions?
- Solid colors (black, olive, coyote) use the heavier 700D CORDURA® for maximum abrasion resistance. The Multicam pattern version uses 500D CORDURA® — slightly lighter while maintaining excellent durability.
