PRODUCT INFORMATION
North American Rescue · Multi-Purpose Rescue Sling
The Hasty Harness
A 9.4 oz multi-purpose rescue sling built from roughly 22 ft of 1 in. Tech Tape nylon webbing, sewn into a loop and NSN-cataloged. One piece of webbing configures for hoisting, lowering, dragging and assisted carry, so the extraction tool is already on the operator rather than in a bag someone has to go back for.
9.4 oz~22 ft of 1 in. Tech Tape6,000 lb sewn-sling minimum breakNSN 6530-01-674-9774

Deployment speed is the entire value. The harness is the tool for the moment when a litter and a carry team are both unavailable.

What's Included

This is a single piece of equipment, not a stocked kit — colorway is the only choice, and it does not change what ships. Tap to open the list, then see Colors & Sizes for the two SKUs.

Minimum break strength is not a working load rating and must not be read as one. North American Rescue rates the sewn sling at 6,000 lb minimum break and the tape at 4,400 lb; neither figure is a safe working load, a rescue load limit or a patient weight limit. For load rating and weight capacity, refer to North American Rescue's own product documentation. For trained professionals only. Not intended for shock loading. Inspect the stitching and webbing before and after every use and remove the harness from service if the opposing-color thread or the webbing shows any damage.

▾Who Carries It

Military and SOF elements carrying an NSN-cataloged extraction sling as part of a casualty-evacuation load · Rescue task force and law enforcement medics where it is fielded in individual response kits · School and facility emergency programs holding building-based response caches.

Where it earns its place is the drag nobody planned for: a casualty on threat-exposed ground, a stairwell or hallway a rigid litter cannot turn, a downed team member at a breach point with no second carrier available. The wrap gives controlled, predictable drag geometry instead of the collar-or-gear-grab improvisation that risks cervical injury and wrecks the extractor's back.

Casualty extraction is a TACEVAC skill and this is a capability tool, not an item on the Evidence-Based Standard Items list. Treat the wrap sequence as a perishable skill — rehearse it until it is fast on a cooperative partner, and understand that a genuinely unconscious dead-weight casualty in a confined space is materially harder than a manikin on a mat.

▾Colors & Sizes

One size, two colorways, and the Color option changes nothing but the webbing color and the SKU. Black is SKU 90-0001 — the subdued option for kits where a high-visibility item is a signature problem. Red is SKU 90-0044 — the high-visibility option for rescue caches, training inventories and equipment that has to be found fast in a bag or on a wall.

The webbing, the length, the sewn-sling construction, the inspection thread and the break-strength figures are identical in both.
