VISM Hard Ballistic Panel (Rectangle) — Level III+

A flat rectangular UHMWPE panel built for the straight-sided pocket of a backpack, briefcase or messenger bag rather than for a plate carrier. Two sizes, sold as a bare panel. Independently tested to VISM’s Level III+ special-threat criterion against 7.62×51 mm, 7.62×39 mm and 5.56×45 mm. Polyethylene is non-ferromagnetic, does not corrode and does not spall.

Polyethylene is the right material for a bag panel: it is non-ferromagnetic, it does not corrode, and it does not spall the way steel can. Measure the pocket before ordering — a rectangular panel needs a straight-sided pocket to sit flat. Hard armor is a wear item. Inspect a plate after any ballistic strike, hard crush or significant drop and replace it if there is any doubt, and record the in-service date when it is issued.
