MED-TAC · Waterproofing — Dry Bag
Waterproof Hi-Vis Dry Bag
A 2-litre airtight dry bag built on heat-welded seams rather than stitching, so there are no needle holes to admit water under pressure. It floats when loaded and sealed, and hi-vis fluorescent-yellow lettering and webbing on a black body make it findable in low light or on dark water. Sold empty — a waterproof shell for supplies you already carry.

Wet gauze is spent gauze. If the kit is going near water, the waterproofing has to be part of the packing plan, not an afterthought.

What's Included

A storage platform sold unstocked. Single configuration, black body with hi-vis fluorescent-yellow markings. Tap a section for exactly what ships and how the bag is built.

VIEW ▾In the Box — dry bag only — no medical supplies
  • 1× Waterproof Hi-Vis Dry Bag, 2 L, SKU LXDRY-2L, black body with fluorescent-yellow lettering and webbing
  • Heat-welded seam construction, no stitching
  • Roll-and-seal closure — the bag is waterproof and airtight when properly sealed
  • No first-aid kit, medical supplies or electronics are included
VIEW ▾Construction & Fill Guidance — how the bag is built and what it is sized to hold
  • Heat-welded seams fuse the material without perforating it; stitched seams create thousands of needle holes that admit water under pressure, so this is true waterproofing rather than water resistance
  • Holds up through extended rain or partial immersion when correctly rolled and sealed
  • Floats when loaded and sealed — relevant for marine operations, river crossings and any activity where the bag may enter the water
  • Hi-vis fluorescent-yellow lettering and webbing on a black body give immediate identification in low light, on dark water or in cluttered gear, and help recovery if the bag separates from its carrier
  • 2 L is sized for a compact first-aid kit or a subset of medical supplies — gauze, dressings, medications, a phone or a radio — not a full trauma bag
  • Approximately 0.5 lb (227 g) empty, so it adds negligible weight to an existing load
  • Protection depends on the seal: roll the closure the full number of turns and buckle it before the bag goes near water
  • Sterile packaging that has been soaked is no longer sterile — inspect and replace anything that got wet regardless of how the bag performed

Who Carries It

Marine and watercraft crews protecting a first-aid kit that lives in an open boat · Overland and expedition teams waterproofing a vehicle medical kit · Kayakers, rafters and paddlers carrying medical supplies through spray and immersion · Hunters and anglers protecting a remote kit · Wildland fire crews working extended wet conditions · Military teams on river crossings and amphibious operations.

Moisture is what quietly degrades a medical kit: gauze loses its properties, sealed packaging fails once soaked, and electronics are destroyed by ingress. This bag is the inexpensive step between a kit that survives a wet season and one that has to be rebuilt. It ships empty — what it protects is whatever the buyer already carries.
