The HM – Wound Management Leg Trainer allows the user to complete the following:
- Identify the optimal location on the leg for tourniquet application based on severe laceration location
- Simulate pulsatile blood flow by applying pressure to the IV bag
- Place tourniquet around the leg and tighten windlass to cut off fluid flow
Wound Packing and Applying Pressure Bandages
The HM – Wound Management Leg Trainer allows the user to complete the following:
- Pack gauze deeply into the severe wounds, putting the gauze in contact with the bleeding vessel at the base of the wound to stem the flow of blood
- Feel the bone within the tissue to simulate “packing to the bone”
- Secure a pressure bandage over the wound
