MED-TAC Bleeding Control Kit
Seven items, one pound, one casualty — assembled around the two components MED-TAC will not substitute: a genuine North American Rescue Gen 7 C-A-T®, which is CoTCCC-recommended, and a Safeguard Medical Emergency Trauma Bandage. Add compressed gauze, gloves, shears, a thermal blanket and a marker and you have the immediate-action sequence in one package. SKU MTI-BCK.
7 items · 1 lbGenuine C-A-T® Gen 7Built on MARCHSKU MTI-BCK

Generic kits substitute the tourniquet when supply gets tight. That is the one item where a substitution is the whole difference between the kit working and not.

Kit Contents

One configuration, seven line items, grouped by the MARCH phase each serves. The two anchor components never vary; read the specification note on the rest. Tap a section.

CoTCCC recommendation applies to the C-A-T® Gen 7 tourniquet. It does not extend to the trauma bandage, the gauze, the blanket or the tools. Two honest limits. First, this kit covers the M and H of MARCH — massive hemorrhage and hypothermia — and nothing else: there is no airway adjunct and no chest seal, so a penetrating chest wound or an airway problem is outside what it can answer. Second, the assembler is explicit that gauze, gloves and blanket may vary by availability, while the tourniquet is always the genuine NAR C-A-T® Gen 7 and the dressing is always the Safeguard Medical ETB. That is the right pair of items to hold fixed, and it is worth knowing which parts of the kit are specified and which are sourced.

Who Carries It

Vehicle, range and workplace kits, where one pound buys the capability that matters for the injury most likely to kill someone before help arrives · Prepared civilians who want a specified tourniquet rather than whatever a generic kit had in stock · Anyone building a first IFAK, as the hemorrhage core to build outward from · Backpack and go-bag carry, at a weight that does not get left behind.

Working sequence: gloves on, shears to expose the wound, tourniquet high and tight for an arterial limb bleed or pack with the gauze and hold firm sustained pressure where a tourniquet cannot reach, cover and compress with the ETB, blanket the casualty against hypothermia, and write the tourniquet time on the limb. These notes are general reference only and are not a substitute for accredited hemorrhage-control training.
