Why It Matters
A BVM without an oxygen line delivers about 21% FiO₂ — room air. That is adequate to move air, but it is not what a hypoxic patient needs, and it is not what the reservoir bag on this device was designed to do. The reservoir only earns its keep when flow is connected.
