The self-contained configuration of the Micro BVM collapsible resuscitator: a full 1,600 mL adult bag-valve-mask, transparent face mask, patient valve and 2,600 mL oxygen reservoir, plus a 2 m oxygen supply line — all inside the same 134 × 63 mm rigid twist-top case. Refolding the device into its case takes practice; do it in training before you need to do it on a clock. If the reservoir collapses on each squeeze, oxygen flow is too low.

What is the difference between this and the standard Pocket BVM?

One component. This configuration packs a 2 m (6 ft 6 in.) oxygen supply line inside the same case. It also carries its own NSN (6515-01-593-4841 vs 6515-01-590-8909) and NATO reference 3590A. The resuscitator, mask, patient valve, reservoir bag, and case dimensions are identical, and both carry the same performance specifications.

How long is the oxygen supply line?

2 m (6 ft 6 in.) per the manufacturer. That reaches a cylinder carried in the same bag, slung on a shoulder strap, or set beside the patient. It is not intended to reach a wall outlet across a room.

What oxygen flow rate should I run?

Manufacturer testing shows 55% delivered oxygen at 2 L/min and 100% at 8 L/min. Standard prehospital practice for BVM ventilation with a reservoir is 15 L/min, which keeps the reservoir bag inflated between compressions. If the reservoir collapses on each squeeze, flow is too low.

Is 1,600 mL the volume delivered to the patient?

No. 1,600 mL is the capacity of the resuscitator bag. Delivered stroke volume with a one-handed compression is 500-600 mL, which is the adult tidal volume range targeted by current resuscitation guidance. The 2,600 mL figure is the oxygen reservoir bag, not a delivered volume.

Can it be reused?

No. It is designed and labeled by the manufacturer for single-patient use. It can be refolded into the case for training repetitions, but a device used on a patient should not be returned to service.

Will it take a PEEP valve?

Yes. The 30 mm male expiratory connector accepts standard PEEP valves. The patient connector is 22 mm male outside / 15 mm female inside, per ANSI/ISO.
