POW Pressure On Wounds · Pressure Dressing Set
POW Essentials Pack
Seven POW pressure dressings in four sizes, matched to the size of the injury: a finger strip for a fingertip, a 2 × 5 in. strip for a hand or forearm, an 11 × 3 in. wrap for a mid-size limb wound, and the Large 4 × 54 in. wrap with a 2-inch dome for the bigger cut. Every piece uses the same rigid-dome design, so the pressure lands on the wound and stays there once it is secured.

A New Kind of Pressure Dressing

Every pressure dressing ever made is trying to do one job: keep pressure on a bleeding wound after the rescuer's hands come off it. Most do it the same way, with a pad under an elastic wrap. The pressure they deliver is only as good as how hard and how evenly the wrap gets pulled, and under stress it is usually pulled neither hard nor evenly.

POW Pressure On Wounds took a different route. Every POW dressing carries a rigid, raised pressure dome built into the wrap itself. You center the dome on the wound, wrap it, and the dome turns the wrap's tension into a focused point of downward force right where the bleeding is. POW calls it patented targeted compression.

The principle is not new to trauma care. Battlefield bandages like the OLAES Modular Trauma Dressing from TacMed Solutions use a pressure cup for the same reason. What is new is that POW builds an entire line around the dome and scales it down to sizes nobody else covers well. The principle that holds pressure on a combat wound now holds pressure on the kitchen-knife cut, the box-cutter slip and the sheet-metal laceration. Those are the bleeds most people will actually face.

The Essentials Pack is the whole line in one box. It is the set POW itself calls its everyday bleeding control kit, and every larger POW bundle (the Home & Car Kit, the Workplace Kit, the Family Pack) is built by multiplying it. One pack covers the finger, the hand, the forearm and the leg without anyone having to improvise.

Why a Dome Works, and Why Four Sizes
Mechanism · engineering reasoning, not a clinical trial

Pressure is force divided by area. Wrap a limb with a plain elastic bandage and its tension spreads across everything it touches, so the wound gets only a small share. Put a rigid dome under that same wrap and the tension funnels onto the small area beneath it. The result is more pressure on the wound and less squeeze on the rest of the limb.

The same physics explains the four sizes. POW's rule is that the dome must be larger than the wound, because pressure only helps where the dome actually lands. A dome too small leaves part of the wound uncovered. A wrap too big for a finger cannot be wrapped tight enough to hold. Matching the dome to the wound is the whole point, so the pack gives you the right one for each.

Where It Fits in Your Kit

The 2024 American Heart Association and American Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid start life-threatening external bleeding with direct pressure, followed by a tourniquet or wound packing where the wound location allows it. A POW dressing is direct pressure that stays on without you.

That defines the pack's lane. It belongs in the everyday first aid kit, one step above adhesive bandages, for the minor-to-moderate limb bleed that will not stop on its own. It contains no tourniquet and no packing gauze, so it is not a trauma kit. Keep it next to one, or add a tourniquet and packing gauze if you are building one kit to cover both.

Who Is Already Carrying It

POW markets the line for four settings: home and workplace first aid, military individual first aid kits, EMS, fire and tactical medical kits, and dialysis aftercare. On its own site, POW names Guardian Gear, Traumoto, The Medic Box, SEAL Wound Care and Jiffy Lube among its partners, and shows the Los Angeles Police Department on its partner list.

The clearest real-world endorsement so far comes from the shop floor. The president of Najjar Lube Centers, a Jiffy Lube operator, wrote to POW recommending the bandage to other businesses that want to be better prepared when an employee gets hurt. A service bay, with its sheet metal, blades and hot parts, is exactly the kind of place a single box of sized dressings earns its spot on the wall.

The Evidence, Honestly

POW is a new product. As of October 2026, POW has not published clinical trial data on the dome design, and we will not pretend otherwise. What stands behind it is the physics above, the first-aid principle every guideline starts with (firm, sustained direct pressure), and the experience of the businesses and responders now carrying it. When independent data appears, it goes on this page.

What's Included

Seven single-component dressings in four sizes.

VIEW ▾Essentials Pack — 7 dressings · SKU POW-EP
  • 1× POW Large Pressure Wrap — 4 in. × 54 in. elastic wrap, 2 in. pressure dome
  • 2× POW Pressure Wrap — 11 in. × 3 in., pressure dome approx. 1 in.
  • 2× POW Pressure Strip — 2 in. × 5 in., 1 in. pressure dome
  • 2× POW Pressure Strip for Fingers — sized for digits
  • Each dressing individually sterile and sealed (as stated by the manufacturer)
▾Which Size, When

The manufacturer's rule is that the dome must be larger than the wound. Pick by wound size first and by body part second.

  • Finger strip: fingertip and finger cuts.
  • 2 × 5 in. strip: small wounds on the hand, wrist, forearm or shin.
  • 11 × 3 in. wrap: mid-size wounds on a wrist, forearm or lower leg.
  • Large 4 × 54 in. wrap: larger wounds on an arm or leg, where the 2 in. dome is needed to cover the wound.

Application follows the same three steps for every size: position the dome over the wound, secure the starting end, then wrap and secure. Check the skin beyond the dressing for coldness, color change, numbness or tingling, and loosen it if any appear.

▾Scope & Warnings

What it is for. The manufacturer's stated scope is temporary first-aid control of minor to moderate external bleeding on the limbs and extremities.

What it is not. This is not a bleeding control kit in the trauma sense. It contains no tourniquet and no packing gauze. Life-threatening extremity bleeding needs a tourniquet or a packed wound, plus a 911 call. That means blood that is spurting, pooling on the ground, or soaking through a dressing.

Manufacturer warnings. Do not apply any piece to the neck, head or trunk. Monitor circulation beyond every dressing for as long as it is on.

If blood seeps through. POW instructs you to leave the installed dressing in place and add gauze and manual pressure on top. MED-TAC note: that instruction applies to a superficial wound that is not deep enough to pack. A deep wound gets packed before it is wrapped. If a packed wound keeps bleeding, the packing failed. Remove the gauze, repack it tightly onto the source of the bleeding, and escalate.

Dialysis access sites. POW markets the line for dialysis aftercare. If you are a dialysis patient, follow your dialysis unit's instructions. An access site needs pressure that stops the bleeding without stopping flow through the fistula or graft.
