CoTCCC recommendation applies to three devices in this kit: the C-A-T® tourniquet, QuikClot® Combat Gauze and the HyFin® Vent chest seal. It does not extend to the nasopharyngeal airway, the Israeli bandage, the burn dressing or any of the wraps — nasopharyngeal airways are not CoTCCC-listed devices, and airway placement is a provider-scope intervention for personnel trained and authorized to perform it. This kit ships as a fill: the components are supplied without a carry bag, to stock a pouch, console or IFAK shell you already have.

Working sequence for a life-threatening extremity bleed: gloves on, expose the wound with the shears, tourniquet high and tight if the bleeding is arterial, pack with the Combat Gauze and hold firm direct pressure if it is not, cover with the Israeli bandage, seal a penetrating chest wound with the HyFin® Vent, then blanket the casualty against hypothermia and note the time. These notes are general reference only and are not a substitute for accredited hemorrhage-control training.
