MED-TAC's deepest pre-stocked IFAK, built on the Lightning X LXPB15 quick-access MOLLE pouch and filled with name-brand components: the NAR C-A-T® tourniquet, QuikClot® hemostatic gauze, an NAR HyFin® chest seal, and a 28 Fr NPA. Where most pre-assembled IFAKs stop at hemorrhage control and a chest seal, this one adds airway, a CPR mask, a burn dressing and antiseptics — enough for multi-victim work and prolonged field care.

What makes the MED-TAC Premium Trauma IFAK different from the MED-TAC Custom Trauma Kit?

The Premium Trauma IFAK uses the larger LXPB15 pouch (8×6.5×3 in.) versus the LXPB35 in the Custom Trauma Kit, providing more capacity for an expanded supply list. The Premium IFAK adds a 28FR nasopharyngeal airway, CPR mask with one-way valve, NAR Burntec burn dressing, alcohol swabs, iodine wipes, and self-adherent gauze — items not included in the Custom Kit. For buyers who want the most complete single-kit MARCH protocol coverage from MED-TAC, the Premium IFAK is the better choice.

Is QuikClot® gauze CoTCCC-recommended?

Yes. QuikClot® Combat Gauze is a kaolin-impregnated hemostatic gauze and is specifically CoTCCC-recommended as a first-line hemostatic agent for hemorrhage that cannot be controlled with a tourniquet. The 3×24-inch format in the Premium IFAK provides enough gauze to fully pack a large wound cavity. QuikClot® is manufactured by Teleflex (formerly Z-Medica) and is widely used by U.S. military and law enforcement agencies.

Does the MED-TAC Premium Trauma IFAK include airway management supplies?

Yes. The Premium Trauma IFAK includes a 28FR nasopharyngeal airway (NPA) for airway management — addressing the Airway phase of the MARCH protocol. The NPA is appropriate for unconscious or semi-conscious casualties who cannot maintain their airway. A CPR mask with one-way valve is also included for rescue breathing scenarios. These additions differentiate the Premium IFAK from basic hemorrhage control kits.

What is the NAR Burntec dressing included in the Premium IFAK?

The NAR Burntec 4×4-inch burn dressing is a North American Rescue product designed for immediate management of thermal burns in the field. It provides a moist, non-adherent covering that reduces pain and prevents secondary contamination. The inclusion of a burn dressing reflects MED-TAC's recognition that tactical casualties often involve blast, explosion, or fire-related burns alongside penetrating trauma. Note: the Burntec is included in U.S. domestic orders; export orders may receive an equivalent substitute.

Is the MED-TAC Premium Trauma IFAK suitable for civilian emergency preparedness?

Yes. The Premium Trauma IFAK contains no prescription-controlled items and is available for civilian purchase. The supplies — tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, pressure bandage, chest seals, airway, gloves, shears — are the same tools used in Stop the Bleed and TCCC training programs. Civilians should receive training in tourniquet application and wound packing before relying on these items in an emergency. MED-TAC recommends Stop the Bleed training as a minimum competency.
