PRODUCT INFORMATION
Streamlight · Hands-Free Light
Streamlight Headlamp
A 2.75 oz LED headlamp with high and low modes, running up to 6 hours on high and up to 24 on low from two AAA cells, in an impact-resistant ABS housing behind a polycarbonate lens. Solid State Power Regulation holds output steady instead of letting it fade as the cells drain. Batteries and headband included.

In a dark structure the hands belong on the patient, not on a light. That is the whole argument for a headlamp, and 2.75 oz is a small enough tax to pay for it.

Water resistance The legacy page stated two ratings that do not agree: 'IPX4' and 'ring sealed, waterproof to 1 metre for 1 hour'. IPX4 is a splash rating and does not cover immersion; immersion to 1 metre is IPX7 territory, and IPX7 is defined at 30 minutes, not an hour. Neither figure is reproduced here as fact. Treat the light as water-resistant and confirm the true rating with Streamlight before relying on it in water.
Regulatory / clinical status None. This is a work light, not a medical device — no CoTCCC status applies and none is claimed.

Two things a buyer will want and this page cannot give them: the model number and a lumen figure. Both are absent from the source copy, and neither has been guessed at. The water-resistance rating is worse than absent — it is stated twice, incompatibly — so it is printed as the contradiction it is.

Who Carries It

EMS, fire and tactical medics working a patient in a dark structure, a vehicle interior or a ditch, where a handheld light costs you a hand · Search and rescue on building searches, debris fields and confined space · Kit managers doing inventory and resupply checks in low light · Anyone building a vehicle or go-bag who wants a light that weighs less than three ounces.

This is equipment, not a clinical device, and nothing about carrying it touches scope of practice. Two practical notes: alkaline cells left in a light for years leak, so rotate them on the same cycle as the rest of the kit, and a headlamp aimed into a conscious patient's eyes is worse than no light at all.
