Life-saving treatment and casualty evacuation in one low-profile backpack. The kit is built on the TacMed™ Signature Series Med-Pack: adjustable internal panels keep four casualties' worth of supplies secured and organized, and a hidden strap-and-cradle system carries the included Foxtrot® DA Litter on the outside of the bag for immediate access when a casualty has to be moved out of the warm zone. The three kits are built to work together: the Individual Kit is each responder's own self- and buddy-care kit, the Medic Kit adds multi-casualty capacity on the same armor, and the Rescue Kit adds four casualty sets and a litter for moving casualties out of the warm zone.

▾NFPA 3000™ Context

NFPA 3000™ — Standard for an Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response (ASHER) Program — sets competency requirements for fire, EMS and law enforcement responders across hot, warm and cold zones, including knowledge of the medical supplies and resources available for threat-based care. TacMed states that its Critical Event kits help agencies meet and exceed multiple NFPA 3000™ standards.

NFPA 3000™ is a program standard, not a product certification: no kit is certified to it, and conformance is a property of an agency's ASHER program. The kit supplies the equipment side; the agency's plan, training and incident command supply the rest.

Nasopharyngeal airways and vented chest seals require training and agency authorization. Warm-zone entry is governed by local RTF policy and incident command, not by the equipment carried.

How many casualties can the CERS-Rescue system treat?

The Rescue Kit provides supplies sized for up to four casualties: four tourniquet sets, four bandage sets, four NPA airway adjuncts, four casualty cards, and two HALO chest seal packages. The Foxtrot® DA Litter enables evacuation of at least one casualty per deployment. This multi-casualty capacity makes the CERS-Rescue specifically suited for designated RTF medics responsible for treating multiple downed responders or civilians within the warm zone.

What is the Foxtrot® DA Litter included with the Rescue kit?

The Foxtrot® DA (Dual-Attachment) Litter is a compact, deployable casualty evacuation litter designed for tactical environments. It stores on the exterior of the Signature Series Med-Pack for immediate access and deploys rapidly for single- or multi-operator drag/carry operations. The inclusion of the Foxtrot® litter in the CERS-Rescue reflects the medic's dual mission of treating casualties and beginning evacuation without waiting for additional personnel or dedicated evacuation equipment.

Does the CERS-Rescue meet NFPA 3000™ medic-level requirements?

Yes. The TacMed™ Critical Event Response System – Rescue is designed to meet and exceed NFPA 3000™ standards for both individual responder and rescue-level competencies. The Rescue configuration addresses multi-casualty treatment, casualty evacuation, personal protection, and TCCC documentation requirements. Agencies building out NFPA 3000™-compliant RTF programs can specify the CERS-Individual for patrol-level responders and the CERS-Rescue for designated tactical medics.

Can the CERS-Rescue be customized for specific agency needs?

Yes. TacMed™ offers customization of the CERS packages in additional color options and with modified kit contents to meet specific agency requirements. Agencies with existing tourniquet or chest seal preferences, specialized airway protocols, or different casualty capacity requirements can request consultation via MED-TAC International. The Signature Series Med-Pack's internal panel system also allows field reconfiguration of supplies without tools.

What does the Critical Event Rescue Kit backpack contain?

The Critical Event Rescue Kit uses the Signature Series Med-Pack backpack platform with internal adjustable panels and contains contents for multi-casualty treatment — typically including SOF® Tourniquets, OLAES® bandages, chest seals, and airway adjuncts — plus a Foxtrot® Litter on the exterior. Yes. The Critical Event Rescue Kit backpack is a separate component from the Responder Plate Carrier. It can be worn independently as a backpack when the operator needs to remove the carrier (e.g., during extended medical operations or when transitioning from an active threat zone to a casualty collection point) while retaining access to the medical supplies and litter.
