TacMed Stop the Bleed® AED Kit
Five items in a resealable waterproof pouch, sized to live inside an AED cabinet next to the defibrillator. A SOF® tourniquet, a Compact Trauma Bandage®, compressed gauze and gloves — the minimum that turns a cardiac station into a station that also answers a bleed. Kit only; the cabinet is not included. SKU 83-0067.

An AED cabinet is the one place in a building everyone can already find. Putting bleeding control in the same box costs nothing in wayfinding and buys the other time-critical emergency.

Kit Contents

One configuration, five line items. Read the specification note on the tourniquet model before ordering against a device list. Tap the section.

No CoTCCC annotation is applied to the tourniquet here, and the reason is a naming question rather than a doubt about quality. The CoTCCC recommended device from this family is the SOF® Tactical Tourniquet Wide (SOF-T Wide); this listing names only a “SOF® Tourniquet” without stating the variant, and the earlier narrow SOFTT is a different device. Ask the vendor to confirm the exact model if a named device is required by your policy — for most buyers this will be the Wide. Two other things. There is no hemostatic dressing in the kit: the gauze is plain packing gauze, which is a reasonable choice for a cabinet a bystander opens, since hemostatic gauze rewards training most cabinet users will not have. And this is a companion, not a station: the AED cabinet and the AED itself are sold separately, and the kit's value depends on it actually being placed inside one. Check the pouch annually for date-limited components and reseal it; a cabinet kit that has been opened and put back is the failure mode this packaging exists to prevent. This kit supports immediate bystander response and is not a substitute for accredited bleeding-control training.

Who Carries It

Facility managers adding bleeding control to AED cabinets already installed and already known to staff · Corporate safety programmes extending trauma preparedness without commissioning a second cabinet · Schools and universities, staged in corridors, gymnasiums and common areas alongside the AED · Event venues and arenas, where the cabinet locations are already mapped and signposted · Community and faith organisations pairing a bleeding kit with an existing public-access defibrillation programme.

The argument for co-location is wayfinding. In a real emergency nobody searches for a second box: they go to the one place they have seen a hundred times. Cardiac arrest and life-threatening bleeding are both measured in minutes, and putting the answer to both behind the same door removes the delay that a separate, unfamiliar cabinet introduces. Confirm the pouch fits the specific cabinet model before rolling out at scale. These notes are general reference only and are not a substitute for accredited bleeding-control training.
