What is the rip-away side panel feature?

The WZ/SRO ARK's side panels are mounted horizontally and designed as rip-away/throwable pouches — they detach rapidly and can be thrown to a teammate or deployed as standalone mini-kits. They are also accessible to team members standing beside the bag carrier without requiring the carrier to remove the backpack.

The KIT comes pre-stocked with 8 Casualty Throw Kits (standard ARK Throw Kits or SRO versions with Tramedic® Tourniquets for smaller limbs). Agencies that want a ready-to-deploy solution without custom configuration choose the KIT; agencies with existing throw kit inventories or custom load-outs choose the BAG.

What is the Warm Zone in an active shooter response?

The warm zone is the area adjacent to but not directly within the active threat (hot zone). It is where Rescue Task Force (RTF) teams — comprising law enforcement with embedded EMS/fire — operate to extract and treat casualties before moving them to the cold zone for definitive care. Warm zone medical operations follow TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) guidelines, which adapt TCCC doctrine for civilian active-threat environments.

Why are SRO-specific throw kits included in the KIT version?

School Resource Officers (SROs) operate in environments with juvenile casualties. The SRO Casualty Throw Kit replaces 4 of the standard ARK Throw Kits with kits containing the Tramedic® Tourniquet — a tourniquet designed to work on the smaller limb circumferences of children and adolescents, where a standard SOF® Tourniquet may not achieve adequate occlusion. This makes the SRO KIT appropriate for school-specific mass casualty scenarios.
