EDC Ankle Trauma Holster

Nothing in this package is a medical device and no CoTCCC recommendation applies to any part of it — the holster is a carrier and ships empty. Recommendation status attaches to named devices such as a C-A-T® tourniquet, and whether the loaded rig ends up carrying one depends entirely on what the buyer puts in it. Two notes before ordering. NAR's own guidance on the recommended fill is not consistent: the product copy suggests a C-A-T® Gen 7, a 4 in. flat ETD and a packing gauze, while the description of the pre-loaded EDC Ankle Trauma Kit lists a C-A-T®, packing gauze, a HyFin® Vent Compact chest seal and gloves — no ETD. The three pockets will not hold both loadouts, so decide the fill and check it physically before the rig is relied on. And fit is stated as one size fits most with no circumference range published, so anyone at the edges of the range should verify against their own ankle before ordering rather than after.

One practical convention: right-handed carriers usually wear the medical rig on the non-dominant ankle, mirroring firearm ankle-holster placement, so that neither item requires crossing limbs under stress. Ankle carry trades access speed for concealment — a downward reach or a seated draw is slower than a pocket — so it earns its place where pocket or belt carry is not available, not as a general upgrade over them.
