The releasable version of Chase Tactical's Modular Enhanced Armor Carrier: a 2.5 lb Mil-Spec IR-treated 500D Cordura carrier with a rapid-release mechanism for emergency doffing, a full MOLLE cummerbund in three girth ranges, spacer mesh interior, padded routing straps and a drag handle. It is built to accept 10 in. × 12 in. Standard or 11 in. × 14 in. Extended hard plates, with a MOLLE cummerbund stated to take soft armor side panels. Carrier only — plates and soft armor are a separate purchase.

The MEAC-R carries no ballistic rating of its own; the NIJ level, the standard and its edition, and any stand-alone or in-conjunction-with condition all belong to the plates and soft armor panels the buyer installs, which are a separate purchase.

The MEAC-R's release system enables carrier removal in seconds rather than the longer process required for a standard plate carrier.

What size cummerbund do I need for the MEAC-R?

The MEAC-R cummerbund is available in three size options ordered at time of purchase: SM/MD covers waist circumferences of 26"–38", LG/XL covers 38"–44", and 2XL/3XL covers 44"–52". Select the size corresponding to your actual waist measurement in the tactical layer — if you typically wear additional base layers or TECC equipment under the carrier, measure accordingly. The hook & loop closure on each size provides adjustment range within the listed dimensions.

What plate size does the MEAC-R accept?

The MEAC-R is compatible with standard 10"×12" hard armor plates for most configurations, and will also accommodate 11"×14" plates for operators requiring larger coverage. Soft armor panels (such as the Chase Tactical CT-3A300-MEAC-PB Level IIIA set) can be used in the plate pockets as stand-alone inserts or as soft backers behind hard plates. The plate pockets are designed for both Shooter's Cut and SAPI-cut plate formats.

Is the MEAC-R MOLLE compatible?

Yes. The MEAC-R cummerbund features MOLLE webbing on both its exterior and interior surfaces, and the carrier's front and rear panels include hook & loop placard areas and vertical clips for pouch system attachment. The exterior cummerbund MOLLE accepts standard magazine pouches, tourniquet holders, and accessory pouches. The interior cummerbund MOLLE allows mounting of soft armor side panels without adding external profile.

Can rescue task force personnel use the MEAC-R during prolonged operations?

Yes. The MEAC-R was designed with sustained operational wear in mind. The spacer mesh interior provides ventilation and moisture management for extended use.
