Product Overview
The TacMed™ Ballistic Response Pack was conceived around the reality of law enforcement ballistic incidents — a situation where the responder must immediately self-treat or treat a downed partner without the luxury of a full trauma bag. The nine-item content selection covers the primary preventable causes of traumatic death: extremity hemorrhage (SOF® tourniquet), major wound management (OLAES® bandage, petrolatum gauze, surgical tape), and airway loss (nasopharyngeal airway). The face shield and casualty card address the downstream needs of rescue breathing and casualty handoff to higher care.
The 9"×7"×3" pouch profile was deliberately designed for dual storage roles: MOLLE attachment on a plate carrier, patrol bag, or duty belt, and vehicle storage where the pouch can live in a console or under a seat until needed. One-hand accessible construction means a responder who has one arm occupied — holding cover, supporting a casualty, or applying pressure — can still access and deploy kit contents. The Red color option provides immediate visual identification as a trauma kit in high-stress environments or for standardized vehicle placement protocols.
TacMed's content selection reflects practical TCCC prioritization. The SOF® Tourniquet Wide addresses the most common mechanism of preventable death in penetrating trauma — extremity hemorrhage. The OLAES® Modular Bandage's built-in pressure plate and occlusive component handles both extremity and torso wound packing. The 28F NPA addresses the second leading cause of preventable death in penetrating trauma — airway obstruction. At 24 oz. packed, the Ballistic Response Pack imposes minimal load penalty when staged on kit that is already being worn.
