Before you deploy it

The R.A.T.S. is a functional tourniquet but it is not on the evidence-based standard-device list. If your protocol requires a evidence-based standard tourniquet, add a C-A-T, SAM XT or TMT and train on it — limb tourniquets go high and tight over clothing when the bleeding source can't be seen or there's no time (hasty), or on bare skin 2–3 in. above the wound once it is exposed (deliberate) — never across a joint.
QuickStop is a topical blood-stop spray. Junctional and deep wounds need hemostatic packing gauze and firm pressure.
The bag-valve mask, oral airways and cervical collar are provider-scope items — use them within your training and medical direction.
Four exam gloves is two pairs for the whole kit — top up gloves before you deploy it.
