Before you deploy it
- Oxygen administration follows your protocol and medical direction.
- Add a evidence-based standard tourniquet — C-A-T, SAM XT or TMT — if your protocol requires one. Limb tourniquets go high and tight over clothing when the bleeding source can't be seen or there's no time (hasty), or on bare skin 2–3 in. above the wound once it is exposed (deliberate) — never across a joint.
- QuickStop is a topical blood-stop spray. Junctional and deep wounds need hemostatic packing gauze and firm pressure.
- The AMBU bag, oral airways and cervical collar are provider-scope items. Four exam gloves is two pairs — top up gloves.
