Combat Casualty Response Kit (CCRK Squad Kit)

A multi-patient, squad-level trauma platform in one operator-carried bag: two C-A-T tourniquets, chest-seal and needle-decompression capability, and airway adjuncts. The 500D CORDURA bag is NIR signature reduced with GhillieTex IR hardware and carries four ways — fanny pack, over-shoulder, assault-pack mounted, or MOLLE.

The manifest follows CoTCCC data on preventable combat death: extremity hemorrhage (2× C-A-T), tension pneumothorax (chest seal, ARS needles, petrolatum gauze) and airway obstruction (2× NPA). MARCH = Massive hemorrhage, Airway, Respiration, Circulation, Hypothermia/Head injury.

▾Who Carries It

Squad and unit medics who need the squad's trauma supply centralized in one bag rather than distributed across individual IFAKs · SOF and tactical teams that require an IR-reduced, multi-carriage platform · SWAT and tactical EMS working a multi-casualty posture · designated Combat Lifesavers in elements without a dedicated medic.

This kit supplements individual IFAKs; it does not replace them. Needle decompression and nasopharyngeal airway placement are provider-scope interventions requiring training, credentialing and authorization under local protocol.

Are the C-A-T® tourniquets and ARS® needles in the CCRK CoTCCC-recommended?

Yes. The C-A-T® (Combat Application Tourniquet) is the CoTCCC-recommended #1 tourniquet. The ARS® 14G × 3.25 in. needle decompression device is CoTCCC-recommended for needle decompression. The HyFin® Vent Chest Seal is CoTCCC-recommended for open pneumothorax.

What training is required to use the CCRK?

The CCRK is designed for Army Combat Lifesavers and TCCC-trained providers. Tourniquet, hemostatic packing, and ETD application are All-Soldier TCCC skills. Needle decompression and NPA insertion require CLS-level training. SWAT and law enforcement users should complete a TECC course.

How many casualties can the CCRK Squad Kit support?

With two C-A-T® tourniquets, four ETDs, four rolled gauze, and two ARS® needles, the CCRK can support interventions for two to four casualties depending on injury pattern. Squad elements should carry individual IFAKs to multiply kit capability.

Is the CCRK available on government contract?

NAR products are available through DLA and GSA contract vehicles. Contact MED-TAC International for current NSN and contract availability for the CCRK Squad Kit.

Does the CCRK include a bag/carrier?

Yes. The CCRK Squad Kit is a complete kit including the bag. The contents are pre-packed in the carrier for immediate deployment. Individual components are available separately at tactical-medicine.com for resupply.
