The entry tier of the MED-TAC fill-kit ladder: a complete BLS first-aid load, assembled in-house, that turns an empty bag into a stocked one. Most first-aid bags fail on the boring items. This is the boring-items kit — the tape, the roll gauze, the ABD pads and the shears that a bag needs before anything clever goes in it.

No item in this kit carries CoTCCC recommendation status. That is not an oversight: ALPHA is a basic first-aid fill and contains no CoTCCC-listed device — no tourniquet, no hemostatic dressing, no chest seal. It is not a trauma kit and will not answer a life-threatening bleed. That capability starts at the CHARLIE tier of this series; anyone stocking a bag for penetrating trauma should start there or add a tourniquet separately. Three practical notes. The glove count is four exam gloves, which is two pairs for the whole kit — thin for a kit of this size, and worth topping up. The OTC block (oral glucose, triple antibiotic ointment, sting-and-bite pads) should only be administered within whatever protocol or standing order the organisation operates under; a workplace responder is not automatically permitted to give a medication. And the ammonia inhalant ampules are included because they are traditional in first-aid fills, not because current practice supports them — routine use of ammonia inhalants to rouse a fainting casualty is no longer recommended by most guidance, and the correct response to syncope is positioning and assessment. Nothing on this page is medical direction or training.

What is the MED-TAC Fill Kit ALPHA designed for?

The ALPHA kit is designed as a basic first aid refill or standalone supply kit for BLS-level care environments. It covers wound care, bandaging, minor burns, sprains and strains, eye irrigation, diabetic emergencies (oral glucose gel), insect stings, and minor soft tissue injuries. It is the entry level in MED-TAC's five-tier fill kit series and is appropriate for vehicle first aid kits, office first aid stations, school kits, and basic preparedness applications.

Who assembles the MED-TAC fill kits?

All MED-TAC Medical Fill Kits are assembled in-house at MED-TAC International's facility in Pembroke Pines, FL, by staff that includes current and former first responders. This hands-on assembly by people with field medical experience — rather than automated warehouse fulfillment — ensures practical supply selection and quality control. MED-TAC also offers custom kit assembly if the standard kits don't meet specific requirements.

What bags is the ALPHA kit compatible with?

The ALPHA fill kit is designed to fill any MED-TAC bag system, including the LXMB45 First Response Backpack and the Modular ALS Bag, as well as any third-party first aid bag of appropriate size. It is sold as a standalone kit and can be used to restock existing first aid kits that have been depleted or to start a new kit from scratch.

Does the ALPHA kit include a tourniquet?

No. The ALPHA kit does not include a tourniquet — it is a basic first aid kit designed for BLS-level care and common workplace injuries. For trauma-level hemorrhage control capability, the CHARLIE, DELTA, or FOXTROT kits in the MED-TAC series include a CAT tourniquet and hemostatic agents. Alternatively, a C-A-T® Tourniquet can be added to any kit from MED-TAC's hemorrhage control collection.

Can I customize the contents of the ALPHA fill kit?

Yes. MED-TAC International offers custom kit assembly for buyers who need a loadout that differs from the standard ALPHA kit.
