What It Is
The TacMed™ LAPD Pouch was purpose-built to the specifications of the Los Angeles Police Department, designed in collaboration with LAPD to address a specific challenge: officers wearing a fully loaded duty belt have limited body real estate. The solution was a pouch designed to hang off the existing belt or off a tourniquet pouch already on the belt — using existing hardware rather than requiring additional mounting infrastructure.
The detachable lower section is the key design innovation. With the full pouch worn, the officer has maximum medical capability; when only the tourniquet is needed (already accessible on the belt), the detachable lower portion provides the remaining trauma supplies separately. This configuration is built around LAPD patrol protocols and remains the preferred setup for LA County agencies including the Sheriff's Department.
The 2" adjustable belt attachment strap fits a wide range of duty belts, and the integrated black D-ring is a rapid attachment point for quickly clipping the pouch to a belt keeper or key-ring attachment — useful when transferring the kit to another officer or transitioning carry positions. Intended Wear Configuration
The LAPD Pouch is designed to work alongside a tourniquet pouch on the duty belt. The officer wears a tourniquet in an accessible belt pouch and attaches the LAPD Pouch to it via the strap, keeping the tourniquet instantly available while the LAPD Pouch provides supplemental bleeding-control, airway, and wound-treatment capability immediately below. The D-ring provides a backup rapid attachment to a belt keeper or key clip in an emergency.
