Product Overview
The Combat Lifesaver (CLS) program is the U.S. military's framework for providing enhanced first aid capability at the squad and individual level, bridging the gap between basic soldier first aid and the scope of the unit medic. The USMC CLS Bag is the North American Rescue® platform specifically fielded by the United States Marine Corps for its CLS program — selected and procured by the USMC because it meets the organizational requirements for combat casualty care at the CLS scope of practice level.
The 1000 Denier Cordura® solution-dyed nylon construction represents the highest durability tier in tactical textile construction — solution-dyed fibers maintain color stability and UV resistance throughout the fabric's service life, while 1000D Cordura® provides abrasion resistance far exceeding lower-denier fabrics used in most commercial medical bags. ITW Nexus hardware — used across the highest-specification U.S. military load-bearing equipment — provides hardware reliability rated for the mechanical stress of continuous military field use.
The sand and water-resistant silent-pull zippers address two of the most failure-prone components in field gear: zipper contamination by sand and debris (which causes binding and premature failure) and acoustic signature (zipper sounds that can compromise tactical positioning). Silent pulls eliminate the zipper sound that can reveal position during noise-disciplined operations. The innovative storage layout with large central compartment and multiple attachment points reflects the USMC's input on how CLS-scope supplies should be organized for rapid access during casualty care. The bag comes empty, allowing units to load the authorized CLS supply list.
