The 50–90 lb figure describes the typical working-dog population this platform is sized for — it is not a manufacturer weight rating. Sizing is the decision that matters. Measure the dog before you need the litter: a 35 × 48 in. platform fits the typical working dog, but a large-frame animal that has to be folded or constrained is at risk of secondary injury during the carry. Confirm the fit in training, not during a casualty event.

This is the evacuation half of a canine casualty response. Treatment capability — hemorrhage control, airway, medications — comes from a separate canine medical kit; the litter moves the patient once care has started.
