What to put in it

A evidence-based standard limb tourniquet — high and tight over clothing when the bleeding source can't be seen (hasty), or on bare skin 2–3 in. above the wound once it is exposed (deliberate); never across a joint.
Hemostatic packing gauze such as QuikClot Combat Gauze or CELOX Rapid, packed tightly to the source with at least three minutes of direct pressure.
A pressure bandage, a chest seal, trauma shears and gloves.
A nasopharyngeal airway if you are trained to place one.
