Built for ankle kits, plainclothes carry and slim IFAKs where a full-size ETD does not fit.

Applying a pressure dressing is within the scope of bystander bleeding-control and first-responder training. Whether direct pressure and a pressure dressing are sufficient, or whether the bleed needs packing or a tourniquet, is a clinical decision governed by your training and local protocol.

Is the Mini Responder ETD a CoTCCC-recommended item?

Emergency Trauma Dressings are recognized in TCCC guidelines as pressure dressings for hemorrhage control. Verify current CoTCCC recommendation status in the most recent TCCC guidelines at deployed-medicine.com.

What is the difference between the 4-inch and 6-inch ETD?

The 4-inch Mini Responder is sized for compact IFAK and EDC kit use, extremity wounds, and pediatric applications. The 6-inch standard ETD provides greater wound coverage for larger wounds and adult torso applications. Both feature the same pressure bar mechanism.

Can this dressing be used on penetrating chest wounds?

No. Penetrating chest wounds require an occlusive vented chest seal (such as HyFin® Vent) to manage tension pneumothorax risk. The ETD is a pressure dressing for external hemorrhage control, not an occlusive chest wound dressing.

How many come in a package?

The Mini Responder ETD is sold as a single sterile unit. Multi-pack options may be available — verify current packaging at narescue.com or through an authorized distributor.

What training is needed to apply an ETD?

The ETD application is covered in Stop the Bleed, CERT, TCCC, and most first aid courses. The pressure bar and wrap mechanism is designed for rapid one-handed application by minimally trained responders.
