How often should medical consumables be restocked?+
Consumables should be restocked immediately after any use, and proactively inspected every 6 months for expiration dates. Nitrile gloves, tape, and similar items have 2–5 year shelf lives under normal storage conditions. Medications and sterile items have specific expiration dates that must be observed. Establish a rotation schedule — first-in, first-out — to ensure the freshest items are always used. What type of medical tape is best for tactical use?+
For tactical medical use, the most versatile tapes are: Leukotape P (rigid sports/strapping tape, excellent for securing dressings and wound closure in wet conditions), Elastikon (elastic adhesive bandage, conforms to joints, used for wrap dressings), and 100mph tape / duct tape variants (general-purpose, equipment repair, and improvised splinting). For IV line securement and delicate skin, Transpore or Tegaderm is preferred. Are there OTC medications appropriate for tactical medical kits?+
